Brief History

The Clyde Valley Ceilidh Band (CVCB) reformed in the year 2000 with members from several top Scottish ceilidh & dance bands with over 20 years experience in traditional music and BBC studio recordings.

The band members first met and played together around 1978 at Biggar Accordion & Fiddle Club in the Clydesdale Hotel, under the guidance of the late Alex MacArthur (The General).   This was closely followed by a BBC studio broadcast.

All based in Lanarkshire (except Dorothy), the individual members have played in South America, Africa, the Middle and Far East, and Europe.

The CVCB are available for all types of functions including parties, weddings, St Andrews Balls and Burns Associations near & far.
